Veterinarian Team
Dr. James Krewatch, more commonly known as Dr. K, graduated from University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1973. After practicing in several local clinics, he opened Bradford Hills in 1979. His special interests include Bioresonance therapy along with a Holistic approach for dogs and cats. Dr. K and his wife, Mardy, have three grown children, three dogs, and two cats.
Dr. Donna Schuring, who is a Franklin Park native, received her Bachelor degree from California University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Bradford Hills in 1992 and serves as our Medical Director. She has a special interest in animal behavior. She has two dogs, two cats, and two horses.
Dr. Daniel Chitu is a 1992 graduate of the University of Bucharest Veterinary School in Romania. After practicing in Canada and North Carolina, he joined Bradford Hills in 2001. He is the primary veterinarian for our Emergency Service. His experience includes dentistry, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, nutritional animal practice, and surgery. Dr. C and his wife, Melissa, have two children.
Dr. Melissa George, a Pittsburgh native, graduated from Penn State and the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. After graduation in 1998, she continued with a medical and surgical internship with a New Jersey veterinary specialist. She joined Bradford Hills in 2001 and has a special interest in orthopedics and is certified to perform the Penn Hip procedure for the early detection of hip dysplasia. Dr. George and her husband, Jason, have one young daughter.
A Canadian by birth, Dr. Heather McGregor graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and the University of Guelph in 1995. After a year of mixed animal practice in Northern Ontario, she converted to small animal practice in Southern Ontario in 1998. After relocating to Pittsburgh for her husband’s job transfer, she joined Bradford Hills in 2001. Her special interests include endocrinology, nutrition, and neutraceuticals. Dr. McGregor and her husband, Martin, have two young children, two dogs and two cats.
Technician Team
Our Technician team is made up of experienced licensed veterinary technicians, as well as qualified assistants and students. Our Technician team leaders are Wendy Colonello, and Melanie Auten, LVT. The technician team assists the veterinarians with patient histories and appointments, dental prophys and surgeries, anesthetic monitoring and patient care. Our Technician team also offers technician appointments which include nail trims, anal gland expression, vaccine boosters (other than Rabies and Distemper), blood work (heartworm tests and pre-anesthetic blood work) and suture removal. They also can be reached to answer client questions through our technician extension.
Client Services Team
Our Client Services Team is made up of experienced veterinary receptionists, veterinary assistants and veterinary technician students and is headed by Lisa Burton and Mike Wallach, as team leaders. The team can assist you with questions regarding basic care, vaccines, making appointments, cost estimates, directing you to technician and doctor voice mail and much more.
